Cool one Bob. The first time I saw this kind of attachment was when I was in Vancouver. The guy loaded up a bike trailer and a bike seat with his kid in it going uphill. I thought he won't make it to the top but I guess as long as you have the proper gearing, this thing will haul a@@. The second one I saw was in Berkeley Performance. One of the guys who works there park his Xtracycle in the store and it looks cool with all the stuff he carries. Nice job on the conversion.

Thanks, Jack. I wonder if the one you saw in Vancouver had a Cleverchimp StokeMonkey (electric motor)on it. With that, hills would no longer be an issue. Especially if he had a trailer attached as well.

As you know, I am looking for a seat post shim 27.2mm to 28.6mm so I can put a stoker stem on the seat post with a shorty bar for the kids to grab when they ride on the back. If you have one or know where I can get one locally that would be great. Since you got a tandem and triplet I figure you may have a source to hook me up!

BTW I was just kidding about the top left pic on your blog. I figure you had to run a long ways to get the triplet to fit in the picture! :)

B, The one I saw in Vancouver didn't have a motor and the trailer was on top of the rear tire behind the bike seat. I think it's easier to haul something that is loaded to a bike or car rather than towing it. Just my .02.

And for small parts, I always go to REI Fremont or Cyclepath in Hayward. I've been always lucky between these to LBS for little parts and if they don't carry it, ebay or those little online stores will mostly have it.
